Authentic Cuban Cafe
Where: 133 E. Morse Blvd. (Map It)
Winter Park 32789
Center St.
407-629-2822

The Authentic Cuban Cafe serves breakfast and lunch only in its tiny, hall-like, unpretentious restaurant off chic Park Avenue in Winter Park.Family-run and friendly as can be, the eatery is true to its name. Sandwich selections include the usual Cubans, loaded with Serrano ham, Spanish pork, Swiss cheese, mustard and pickles. And there's also lechon asado -- a tasty dish marinatedwith thinly sliced pork. BLTs, pastrami sandwiches and burgers topped with ham, bacon and eggs round out the menu. Breakfast is a bargain at this joint, with omlets and eggs going for just a few bucks. Try the fried yucca or maduros (fried sweet plantains) on the side. Tables topped with white linens and glass make the setting more upscale than your average bakery, and there's a small patio facing Morse Blvd. that's great for people watching while sipping a cafe con leche.

Hours: Monday-Saturday: 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
